    Alabama's Worker's Compensation Act Under Fire, presented by Carin Burford, Ogletree Deakins. 

    This presentation will include an analysis of Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Pat Ballards' May 8, 2017 opinion and order in Nora Clower v CVS Caremark Corp. declaring that Alabama's Worker's Compensation Act is unconstitutional, the status of the 120 day stay of this order, a review of prior challenges to the constitutionality of the Act, the current status of any appeal, the issues likely to be raised on appeal, and the likely impact on Alabama employers if Judge  Ballards' order is affirmed.
